Farsi - Malay Similar Words

Salam..chetori?

When was the last time I updated this blog? Was it last year?
Oh..the life cycle technology has brought blogs to a saturation phase.
Life becomes more hectic and users need something easy go and the result, most of the bloggers have migrated to other social media such as Instagram and Facebook where they could update status easier using the apps. Is there any app for Blogspot? If yes, I think it's not attractive or interactive enough to glue bloggers to it.

Anyway, for the past 1 year of my life many things had happened, good and bad. One major event happened is that I have found many friends that are in the same boat as me - Malaysian married to Iranian. And this is actually the reason why I am writing this post today. One of them asked me words in Malay that have synonym with Farsi. I have recorded some words that I found throughout my journey in learning Farsi in this blog (right sidebar). But for some unknown reasons, it does not appear if opening this blog through mobile phone. Thus, I copy it in this blog. I will update the list by time..

Bila tak sabar, datang kesepian

Di waktu malam, aku mahukan seseorang

Dengan lagu ini, ku temui kehidupan semula

Dunia tiada halangan, aku dapati ketenangan

Aku tempuhi segala masalah yang aku ada

Aku kuasai duniaku, aku tahu apa yang aku mahu

Perasaan ini, adalah yang terbaik di dunia

Hatiku yang kuat, aku masih disini

Aku sihat, esok tak akan jadi teruk

Disini, dekat dengan bulan dan bintang

Jauh dari bumi, tiada kekecewaan

Dengan lagu ini, hati menjadi gelisah

Tiada beza, apa yang akan terjadi esok

Mari bersama, kita ke atas
Ke atas dan ke atas

Perasaan yang terbaik di dunia

Ke atas dan ke atas

Disinilah tempat kita

Dekat dengan matahari, lihat aku penuh dengan cahaya

Terbang di awan, seperti helang

Dunia kecil, langit bumbung bilik ku

Tiada apa yang kurang, kita berpelukan

Dunia tidak sama sekali melihat kita

Ya, bersama-sama bidadari, tetapi kita syaitan ;)

Ke atas dan ke atas

Mari semua ke atas dan ke atas

Perasaan ini, yang terbaik di dunia

Hatiku yang kuat, aku masih disini
Aku sihat, esok tak akan jadi teruk

PhD Journey - The Ups and Downs

(This was drafted right after I finished PhD)

Milestones
2013: Research proposal defense
2 August 2016: Submission of Thesis for Viva
19 September 2016: VIVA
27 October 2016: Submission Corrected Thesis
20 November 2016: Submission of hardbound thesis
15 January 2017: Senate Approval
28 April 2017: Convocation

19 September 2016, 9.30 a.m. after about 20 minutes, I stopped my mouth from explaining my research. The chairman opened for Q&A session. <krik krik> nor examiner 1 or 2 speak up. The chairman stressed out again any question or comment? Examiner 1 commented a little bit on Chapter 4, some words should be changed, graphs to be added on moderation tests, and the rest are ok, write up are very nice and easy to understand. Is this the reason why she congratulated me when I entered the room that morning? Then examiner 2 said she had some questions to ask but I have answered it during my presentation. Really, God is helping me. She added to look at referencing style and formatting. The rest, write up are very nice and easy to understand. Again?! I can't believe it. Even the chairman looked shocked with the situation.

About 15 minutes after I finished my presentation, the chairman asked me to go out from the room for a while for them to discuss the result. Outside, I looked at viva room 1, 2, and 3. Still occupied and no one was waiting outside. I looked at the banquet tables (graduate schools prepared for breakfast and lunch for morning viva session, some viva sessions tend to extend til lunchtime), some of the breakfast are untouched. I was alone, not even my husband has arrived as I told him to come after 10 a.m. After about 5 minutes, I was asked to enter the room.

The chairman was smiling, saying that this is the shortest viva session I ever attended. The awaited result, I was granted B1 result. Never in my dream, I ever imagined getting this result. In our PhD circle group, we were always hoping someone would get this and what a surprise I was the first one! B1 means minor correction in a month time, thesis need to be checked only by supervisor. Speechless. Tears started to flow. Husband arrived.

Highest appreciation first and foremost to my husband, who has motivated me to go on this path, to continue supporting me, even in my darkest hardest moment. There were several times I was nearly quit this journey but he stood still in front of me forcing me to continue.  Secondly, to my best supervisor Dr Ahmad. He is a kind of supervisor that every PhD candidate wants. Observant not controller. Last, my family and friends. They are the one who really wants to see the result of my absence during a gathering or happy moments.

Alhamdulillah...

Baradar (Brother) - Mohammad Alizadeh (Lyrics Translation)

Three, these 3 are my brothers that I called father. This song I dedicated to all of you. I'm not sure whether I translated it correctly or not but no matter what happen, what are the conditions you will always be my guide. Soundtrack for drama series in Iran - Baradar.

Without you what did I went through
Happy but I don't see the happiness
You are the happiness at the beginning of my life's journey that I've arrived now
Without me why you're happy
Who else could understand what I went through
I admit you didn't do any wrong
Just the world is against us
Just the world is against us

This life really tested us
The brothers become tired
You arrived really late
Because of you I did everything
You left, how should I come back?
Come back just the way you are

Call my name, your voice is my childhood's lullaby
Call my name, I am tired from the incomplete love
Look at me, with your full sight, I don't have any other words to say
It is impossible, do human happy with the life
Is it possible that roots becomes tired of its stems?
Seriously, I dont't have anything else to say

Film: Sangge Sabour (The Patience Stone)

Salam, Eydetun Mobarak! Today is the 6th of Syawal. Just like past years, this year I'm in charged for pecel job. I'm so lucky and grateful that I was able to help my mum again during this eid.

Today is the first day of work after eid, and I want to share a film I watched during hari raya. Of course Astro A-List brought this film. Sangge Sabour is a film by a French (if i'm not mistaken) but most of the actors are iranian outside iran. The main actress is the controversial Golshifteh Farahani, one of most beautiful woman on earth. The film is about a life of a wife whom her husband is wounded during war in Afghanistan. Her tragic life of being left alone with a comma husband is a destroyed neighborhood. Since the tragedy that happened to her husband, she tried to tell the comman husband of all that had happened to her. The cruel life of being an Afghanistan woman - to be blame if she is infertile where she did everything to make herself pregnant even cheating to her husband. To sell herself to the militia in order to get money for life. In his comma, actually the husband heard everything and lastly he came alive and wanted to kill the wife but golshifteh killed him first.

Overall, I give 5 stars for this film. Golshifteh is a one good actress. No wonder she gets many job outside iran. The title of this film reminds me of golshifteh when she was in Santoori film. The first iranian film I watched. The OST for Santoori is Sange Sabour by Mohsen Chavosi.

Ghormeh Sabzi in Malaysia's TV

Again Astro Alist has brought winning award film. This time involved Iranian actor. I don't remember the film's title but it's a France movie not Iranian. This part that I managed to capture is very interesting for me. The father came from Iran and cooked ghormeh sabzi to the children.

Translation: After this you can't eat tasty ghormeh sabzi again

Translation: Other than you married 2 good Iranian men.

translation: You Fouad, marry to an Iranian girl

Translation: How do Iranian girls look?

Persian Language

I never did a research, but from the first day I learn to speak farsi, i found some farsi words that similar to malay language that makes me think, there is a persian root in malay language. And today I found the proof.

Look on the right side bar to see the similar words that I found til today.

Be Khatere Pooneh (Because of Pooneh)

Today I come back kampung.

I checked on Astro A-List and saw this film.

I've watched this film before and watch it again tonight.

A very nice film.

Love any film with Haniyeh Tavassoli.

Film: Melbourne (ملبورن)

I watched this film during 2015 International Fajr Film Festival. There were lots of films to watch but I choose this simply because the actor and actress, Peyman Moaadi actor for the famous "The Separation" film and Negar Javaherian actress for "Hoze Naghashi" (Painting Pool) film. Oh, I didn't share about these 2 films but these 2 are among the best Iranian films I ever watched.

Back to "Melbourne". At first I was expecting a story that focused on something related to Melbourne but it's not really. It's about a couple's experience on the day they will depart to Melbourne. More specifically, it tells a tragedy that happened to them before their departure. Their neighbor(the father) asked them to baby sit  his baby because he wanted to do something outside. On that particular day, they are actually busy packing their things, selling furniture and do things that they have to settle before flying to Australia. In the beginning of the film the husband was 'Skyping' with his friend in Australia and the wife had to settle something outside (I don't really get what she did). The baby was in the room sleeping. Problem started when the husband went to the room, a hard wind blew shutting the door and one of the glass on the door broken. Amazingly the baby did not respond to that situation. Supposedly she'd be shock and cry. When he check the baby he found out that she's not breathing. Both of them got really afraid and in dilemma. Because they are leaving for Melbourne, they don't want any trouble to stop their ultimate opportunity to migrate from Iran. If they ask for help people will know and they might be blamed for causing the death and maybe they will lose the chance for Melbourne. They tried to give excuses to the baby's parents when they came to take the baby. They also tried to hide from the people that came to their house by giving excuses. They're confused what caused the baby to die. At first they thought the baby was dead when the father gave them because the baby did not awake from the time they took from the father. But then when they looked back at the camera they saw that the baby did moved in a different position. In the end they found out that the baby die maybe because of smoke. The husband is a really heavy smoker. Once they understood this situation, they agreed to keep on their plan to Melbourne and decided to place the baby at their neighbor's house, an old lady. And the film ended there...

This is another typical Iranian simple but meaningful film. It just took one location which is a house, a duration of a half day story maybe less. However, the story line was very interesting and the actors and actresses were very good. No wonder they've won several awards internationally, correct me if I'm wrong. Out of 5 I give 4 stars. Oh there's one scene I remember said about Malaysia. A man who came to buy their furniture said things like "Oh my aunty lives in Malaysia, Australia near Malaysia right?" hehe...

Til then...will update about something else soon. Maybe about Dar Hashieh Serial. Yes, I watch it everyday..ta daf'e baad...khoda hafez
