The Best Spaghetti Ever!


It superlicious-mouth watering-heavenly spaghetti in the universe! Worth of trying! Definitely will go for repeat consume! Cook by a professional in spaghetti a.k.a Iranian style spaghetti "makaroni" - My forever super sayang azizam!! Please cook more and more and more.......... Need recipe? No. Secret. Me also don't know how o.O

Mango Lassi


Today at 2 p.m. was 36'C! Is Malaysia having a summer now? My lips dry, I got mouth ulcer. What I want is to have something icy cold. Took a mango, some yogurt, some milk, some ice, blend zennggggg! Wallah! Mango lassi.

Mandela Restaurant Not Nelson Mandela

Normally I will take my niece, nephew and mom to restaurant when I got salary. Last month, I took them to Mandela Restaurant at my hometown. No..no.. not Nelson Mandela but as I heard the owner are husband and wife which name Man and Ela. So the combination become Mandela. This is a famous seafood restaurant at the end of Asia continent. Fresh, big portion and cheap. The trick is to order a single portion if you go less than 5 people because trust me, you cannot finish it. I even took away  the leftover foods. And they readily put plastic bags and containers near counter so you can take it and pack by yourself.

Another one is Kailan Goreng Ikan Masin but because they served late, I didnt snap photo as my hand already full of sambal :)
Total damage RM65. Really cheap!!

Mini Mackerel Quiche


Blog hopping searching ideas what to cook for Iftar yesterday. Found this recipe at *. I love to follow recipes from this blog because simple yet delicious. Thank you so much for the talented Mrs E (I call her Mrs E because in her blog she always mentioned her husband name as Mr E and her 3 children as 3Es). I don't know her name but all of her cookings salivate me :) This is the recipe with little alteration.

Ingredients:
~ 1 canned mackerel small size
~ 2 slices of cheddar
~ 1 tomato
~ 1 small onion diced
~ Puff pastry
~ Butter to grease
~ Oil
~ 1 egg slightly beat
~ Some coriander leaves
~ Salt

Methods:
1. Heat oil, stir onion. When translucent add tomato and mashed mackerel, salt to taste. Put aside.
2. Put puff pastry on small pan, spoon in some of mackerel mixture, then pour some egg, place cheddar on top and lastly sprinkle some coriander leaves.
3. Baked 150' C for 30 minutes or until golden brown.

Simple, isn't it?

My first Persian song by my niece Nurizzati

My precious niece, nurizzati really interested to learn Persian as she always saw me talking with bff on phone.
Every Persian songs I love to hear, she will loves it too. She memorized Mano Bebakhs song by Kamran Hooman. She even make this as her ring tone on her mobile phone! Now I am sharing her video mimic of the song.

Don't be surprise also she can speak a little of farsi words. Se can answer if you ask khubi? esmet chiye? chand salete? Also she knows farsi words for some animals like dog, chicken, cat and sheep. Plus she can count 1 to 10 in Farsi.

Maybe later I should record her conversation in farsi.

Bubur Labu dengan Kacang Hijau (Pumpkin with Mung Bean Porridge)


To finish up my pumpkin stock, here is pumpkin porridge. This is another type of sweet porridge in Malay cuisine.

Ingredients:
~ Pumpkin
~ Mung beans - soaks 4 hours prior to cook
~ Malacca sugar or can replace with brown sugar
~ Castor sugar
~ Coconut milk
~ Pinch of salt
~ Water

Methods:
1. Boil mung beans until soft, add pumpkin.
2. When pumpkin soft, add all sugar and pinch of salt.
3. Slow down heat, add coconut milk
4. Cook until the porridge thicken a bit.

This is another type of pumpkin porridge I make while I was at kampung, the difference is i add a flour mixture in it.

Udang Masak Lemak dengan Labu (Prawn Cook in Coconut Milk with Pumpkin)


My favorite seafood is prawn. I cooked this recipe last week for my Iftar for Isra' Mikraj fast. My mom gave a small pumpkin when I went back kampung. Half I made bubur labu (pumpkin porridge) which I will share later. Here, is the recipe for prawn:

Ingredients:
~ Pumpkin
~ Half kg prawn
~ Half inch ginger*
~ 1 lemon grass - flatten the root
~ 1 medium onion*
~ 2 garlics*
~ 2 bird eye chillies*
~ 5 anchovies*
~ 1/2 tsp turmeric
~ 1 turmeric leaf
~ some coconut milk
~ water

*pound well

Methods:
~ Heat some oil in pan, stir the pounded mixture, turmeric and lemon grass until the aroma rise
~ Pour some water, bring to boil, add the pumpkin
~ When the pumpkin soft, add prawn, coconut milk and turmeric leaf
~ Adjust the taste with salt and sugar
